It has been one month since the battle with Victoria and her army of newborns and Bella Swan, the Cullens and the Quileute wolf pack have come out of it hoping to have a break from all of the chaos that has been a dominant factor in all of their lives for the last few years. However, life has not settled down the way that they had hoped and everyone is experiencing feelings of uneasiness for different reasons.
After convincing the Volturi to keep Bree Tanner alive and taking full responsibility for her, the Cullens are working day and night to try and get her through the newborn stage of her new life. The task, however, is proving to be much more difficult than they had originally anticipated. Meanwhile, the Volturi are keeping tabs on the Cullens to make sure that they will follow through with their promise to change Bella by sending numerous spies to Forks. They have also gained knowledge of five Children of the Moon and have begun a chase that will result in the destruction of the five. In fear, the five have fled to Forks, seeking protection and aid from the Quileute wolf pack. Upon learning about the origins of these strangers, the Quileutes decide to form an alliance with them and keep them in hiding. However, there is one problem: the Quileutes know nothing about the Volturi and what they’re capable of, and must confide in the Cullens to gain that knowledge. In the midst of all this, Bella finds herself torn between her deep love for Edward and her newly discovered love for Jacob—who has developed a new secret and love of his own and is still having a hard time accepting that Bella and Edward are engaged.
New relationships will form, loyalty will be put to the test, and the ageless struggle between werewolf and vampire may be forgotten. Will Bree prove to be too much of a liability? And what will happen when the Volturi spies finally reach Forks? Only time will tell, and some may see their last sunrise.
